Collaborative communities: Contact Info
Revisions Made:
1. I changed the fonts of the words "Email" and "Phone" to bold.
Reflection:
I made minimal changes to this page. It was suggested that I draw more attention to the email and phone information by using a bold font. This change makes a great deal of sense. It will allow students, regardless of how tired they are, to find the necessary information to contact me. As a current teacher in a traditional classroom, this type of information is something I am accustomed to sharing with my students. It is important that students always have a way to reach you and also have expectations of when they can expect a response.

Contact Information
Email is the preferred method of communication. I will reply to your email within 24 hours. Due to work constraints, I cannot set specific times to call. Please be sure to leave a voicemail that includes your name, number, and the reason for your call. I will check messages Monday through Friday during my work hours. I will return your call within 24 hours, unless you leave the message over the weekend. |
Why did you choose the contact methods you listed?
I selected the two methods (email and phone) because this is what I am most comfortable with, as well as an easy option for others to use. Email is the easiest for me to access from any where. My work phone is the most convenient. Since my available time during the day can be unpredictable, I am not able to give specific hours of availability.
What limitations will you place on student contacts?
Students can call or email at any time. The phone number is for my work phone, which helps eliminate phone calls at inopportune times. I will not check voicemail during the weekend. Email is something I can reply to at anytime, but I may not reply instantly. I promise a reply within 24 hours.
How will you separate personal and work availability? (Do you want students calling you at 3 AM on Sunday morning?)
Since I am using my work phone, I do not have to worry about students disrupting personal time. I will notify students of times in which I will check my email during the week so they are aware of my schedule.
